Well here are my second round of team rankings of the teams that I have actually seen play and only taking into account the games I actually saw them play. I've gone back and forth with including out of state teams and have decided to go ahead and rank the teams out of state that I have seen. I also have to apologize because I did miss my fourth and fifth ranked teams last time which was Madison Memorial and Sun Prairie. I'm not really sure what happened here but, I will have it corrected this time. Once again in the ( ) I will put how many times I have seen a team play. I'm going to try something here to distinguish between the teams, states, and division. D1 teams will be in Black,D2 teams in Red, D3 teams in Blue, D4 teams in Green, D5 teams in Orange, Iowa Teams in Purple, and Minnesota teams in Pink. Sorry Minnesota only color that showed up well left.
1. Milwaukee Vincent (2) Team that has a ton of athletes, great
size, and have a legit D1 talent in Deonte Burton along with some possible
scholarship player.
2. Lacrosse Aquinas (2) Bronson Koenig
makes this team go. Koenig makes everyone on his team better and everyone on
this team knows their role.
3. Whitefish Bay Dominican (2)
Have two big time D1 players in Wilson and Stone. The best of the team
is so so but, these guys are so good it doesn't matter.
4. Iowa City West (1) Have a ton of athletes and have very good size as well as some D1 college talent.
5. Madison Memorial (3) The beat just goes on and on for Memorial. Jester Weah is a beast on the glass and they have tons and tons of good guards.
6. Sun Prairie (3) Have two legitimate high D1 recruits in Nick Fuller and Nick Noskowiak which are the best one two combos I've seen.
7. Milwaukee
Hamilton (1) Looney has possibly the best talent in the state and David
Burrel is a talented side kick. Foul trouble good dome this team though.
8. Wisconsin Lutheran (1) Love this team. They sub like a
hockey team 5 in, 5 out. Their top 10 is as good as any teams.
9.
Arrowhead (1) Very well coached team that pushes the tempo but, also
plays some great defense as well. Have a talented top 10.
10. East
Troy (1)- Have great size with the Pahl twins and obvious have three D1
athletes in the Pahls and Nathan Dodge.
11. Onalaska (3) Matt Thomas is possibly the best player in the state and the team works everything through him. Play a very solid zone defense.
12. Austin (1) Team with a lot of size and length and play a very tough zone defense. Have a star in the 6'8 Joe Aase.
13. Milwaukee Riverside (1)
Tons of athletes on this team and have some great size.
14.
Milwaukee Marquette (2) Very disciplined team, that is extremely
unselfish and they don't care who the leading scorer is on any given night.
15 Mukwonago (1) These guys look like a football team and
use that strength by pounding the ball into the inside. Very patient on offense
and play great D.
16. Danville (1) Very impressive team that really moved the ball well and shot the three extremely well.
17. Wauwatosa East (2) Very
disciplined and have a pair of lead guards in Nate Moore and Anthony Carroll
that keep things under control
18. Milwaukee Washington (3)
Team with a ton of athletes but, just couldn't seem to put it together
when I saw them. Jamaar McKay is a great talent but, he does everything one on
one and it just makes it so difficult for him at times.
19. Roseville (1) Very athletic quick team but, lacked outside shooting.
20. Robbinsdale Cooper (1) A team with a ton of talent but, can they play together and be disciplined enough is the question.
21.
Homestead (2) A big team that is very patient and like to look into the
post and then spot up from the outside. Don't have a guy that can really take it
upon themselves and score.
22. Wisconsin Dells (3) A very
good starting five that loves to push the tempo but, get nothing from the bench
and severely lack height.
23. Dubuque Senior (1) Have very good size and are ranked high in Iowa but, honestly I wasn't that impressed with them.
24. Roncalli (1) Very undersized team but, they just move so well with out the ball and work as a team. Can really shoot the three.
25. Deforest (1) Very hard nosed team they play extremely hard and have some shooters and a strong post player in Josiah Owen.
26. Randolph (1) Lacked a go to player on the offensive end. Played very strong team defense though.
27. Eastview (1) Had a ton of size but, just lacked the ability to score on a consistent bases. Looked better then what they played.
28. Wauwatosa West (1) Honestly I
liked this team and felt like they have potential but, they are extremely young
and not much height besides a big man that doesn't seem to like to hustle much.
29. Bay Port (1) Steve Minzlaff is a tremendous talent but,
just didn't see much else for players or size.
30. Madison West (2)
Malik Clements is a D1 player and they have some nice size on the
inside but, at times become stagnant and depended on the deep ball too much.
31. Linn-Mar (1) Another team that looked better then what they played. Have a ton of size but, just don't have the total package on the offensive end in scoring.
32. Mauston (1) Joel Heesch is a big time player that really carries this team and there probably isn't a guy in the teams below Mauston that has his skill level.
33. Oak Creek (1) Very small undersized team and their one
big man prefers to play outside.
34. Milwaukee St Thomas More (1)
Another very small team and I just don't see a legit guy that can carry
them.
35. Madison Lafollette (2) Have some talent but, not
sure what the problem is that they just can't put it all together.
36. Middleton (1) Derek Rongstad is a very good player but,
their just isn't much else.
37. Madison East (1) Size like
always is their problem.
38. Holmen (1) Very tough nosed team that played very hard but, just not a lot of talent.
39. Verona (1) Couldn't really get anything going in the game I saw and just don't seem to have a player that can break down the defense and score. Scoring is very hard for them.
40. Westby (1) Very undersized team that can shoot the three but, didn't show much else.
41. Maple River (1) Very disciplined team but, didn't seem to have the overall talent or shooting ability.
42. Cedar Rapids Washington (1) Did see a lot of good out of this team but, they do have a decent number of athletes if they can put it all together.
43. Oconomowoc (1) Just not a good
team. Apparently have a D1 talent in TJ Schlundt but, they don't run much for
him and don't have much size.
44. Plymouth (1) Maybe it was
just the team they were playing but, just didn't look good at all. Lots of
turnovers, couldn't handle the pressure.
45. Racine Park (1)
Very young team that just didn't do anything right in the game I saw.
I know these rankings aren't perfect and there very hard to do when your comparing teams to different divisions and not to mention who they played makes a big difference as well.
