Final Freshmen Rankings

All year in my mind the big debate for the freshmen, has been who is the top freshmen player in the state. For me it has come down to Brendan Ortiz and Nick Fuller. One of my first games of the year I saw Madison Memorial take on Sun Prairie and without a doubt in my mind Ortiz was the better player. Early in the season though Ortiz suffered a leg injury which kept him out of a lot of games and then when he did return he never was the same. Fuller on the other hand continued to get better and better as the year progressed and really impressed me every time I saw him after that first game. So I had to think about whether I wanted to base Ortiz solely on that one game he was at full strength or how he looked the rest of the season. When I thought about it, if I would of seen Ortiz only later in the season I would of based him on those games. Therefore I went with Fuller as #1 with Ortiz right behind.

1. Nick Fuller 6'4 Sun Prairie- Long lanky kid that moves very well and can really knock down the three point shot. Rebounds very well and isn't a afraid to battle with the thicker players.
2. Brendan Ortiz 5'11 Madison Memorial- Great ball handler and point guard. Really a smooth shooter that can knock down the three on a regular bases.
3. Austin Malone-Mitchell 5'8 Shorewood- Plays with lots of confidence and has a nice mid range game and can really put the ball in the hoop.
4. Shane Wimann 6'2 Wisconsin Dells- Looks like an upper classmen and plays like one too. Great rebounder and shoots the three well.
5. Eric Kittell 5'9 Brillion- Great great three point shooter, that handles the ball very well.
6. Joel Heesch 6'1 Mauston- Very smooth on the court, handles the ball, and shoots the three fairly well.
7. Sam Murphy 6'3 Royal- Very heady player that does a little bit of everything. Battles on the inside to rebound and can shoot the spot up three pointer.
8. MJ Delmore 5'8 Wisconsin Dells- Very good point guard that does a nice job running the show, really looks to set teammates up, and shoots the three real well.
9. Ian Taylor 6'1 Portage- Moves very well without the ball and jut plays with a lot of confidence on the court and plays like an upper classmen.
10. Ray Vonn Posey 6'7 Milwaukee Washington- Huge body that has soft hands and a nice touch around the rim.
11. Noah Polcyn 5'10 Green Lake- Sharpshooter from the outside that can go off at anytime from downtown.
12. Alex Najeib 5'9 Shorewood- Really athletic kid that can do what he wants on the court. Does take some bad shots at times.
13. Brad Kenote 6'0 Rhinelander- Right now a hustler that doesn't look to shoot much but, has a nice shot and some pretty good ball handling.
14. Alex Barenklau 6'0 Monroe- Honestly don't remember much about this kid but, he was the only other freshmen that I saw that actually played.
15. Michael Dickman 5'8 Wisconsin Dells- Only other freshmen I've seen play actual minutes outside of garbage time, handles the ball very well and can hit the three.

There are my freshmen rankings and those are the only freshmen that I actually saw play this year. Well this is probably my final basketball post of the year and may have some softball posts throughout the summer.

Final Sophomore Rankings

Before I begin my rankings I have to say that there is no doubt in my mind that J.P. Tokoto is the top sophomore in the class. I didn't see Tokoto play this year so he's not included but, from what I saw of him as a freshmen, what I've seen in highlights, and from what every ones been saying. The kid as his option of schools from Kansas, North Carolina, Duke, and any of the other elite programs. How many sophomores, let alone a sophomore from Wisconsin, has Roy Williams coming to their games? If Tokoto is #1 then Junior Lomomba is without a doubt #2. Lomomba is slightly behind Tokoto athletically but, he is every improve and his game seems to be improving month by month and if it hadn't of been for the wrist injury he suffered prior to the season may of nearly caught Tokoto. Another player that is emerging in this conversation is Sam Mader who is really coming into his own and is right there behind the top two. After the top three there is a lot of room for debate and it's basically up to your likes and dislikes and who you think has the ability to continue growing.

1. Junior Lomomba 6'4 Madison Memorial- Has a great game in the post where he showcases a variety of moves to score. Has really improved his ball handling skills and has spent a lot more time handling the ball and helping to run the offense. Has the size and build to battle with any upperclassmen, has a nice mid range shot and has really improved his outside three point shooting.
2. Sam Mader 6'7 Appleton East- Really improved his game throughout the year and with his size really possesses a lot of athleticism. Prefers to play on the outside where he can knock down the three and handles the ball very well. Is a very good jumper that blocks shots very well and can rebound very well.
3.Jordan Fouse 6'4 Racine St. Catherines- Just always seems to be in the right place at the right time. Absolutely killed the opposing teams zone defense. Is also a good rebounder.
4.Sean McGann 6'3 Baraboo- Great athlete that can get to the rim and score. Also handles the ball very nicely.
5. Jamar Morris 6'4 Madison Memorial- Jumps out of the gym and absolutely dominates the inside at times. Really has a nice mid range shot and will only get better as they look for him more on the inside.
6.Trevor Krizenesky 5'9 Brillion- Very quick guard that was the leading scorer on a team that made it to state. Handles the ball very well and has a nice step back shot that he has to use because his defender is typically much taller then him.
7. Matt Van Scyoc 6'5 Green Lake- Big man that moves very well and can step out and hit the three point shot. Should have a huge year next year as he will be his teams top guy.
8. Austin Arians 6'6 Madison Edgewood- Moves very well without the ball and moves very well overall for a 6'6 kid. Has a very nice shot from anywhere on the court.
9. Spencer Brink 6'2 Madsion Edgewood- Very nice point guard that runs the team very well. Has a nice shot from mid range out to three point range.
10. Taron Edwards 5'10 Racine Park- Very ugly shot but, never seems to miss. Probably closer to 6'0 or 6'1.
11. Vince Kube 6'2 Lacrosse Logan- Another athletic player that can shoot the mid range jump shot or get to the rim.
12. Sawyer Mosely 5'10 Port Washington- Handles the ball very well and is always looking for his teammates.
13. Rudy Bentley JR 5'7 Madison East- Another guy with great handles that can get anywhere he wants and isn't afraid to go up against bigger defenders.
14. Derrick Williams 5'10 Milwaukee Washington- Has a nice three point shot and is very quick. Handles the ball well and plays tough in your face defense.
15. Antonio Mayfield 6'0 Milwaukee Washington- Another guy that plays very tough defense as well and can hit the three point shot.
16. Demetrius Durley 6'0 Madison East- A guy that will probably be a big time scorer in the future comes off the screen and is ready to shoot and can knock it down.
17. Connor Morovits 6'0 Prairie du Chien- Great three point shooter with unlimited range.
18. Deandre Harris 6'2 Milwaukee Washington
19. Deion Jackson Body 5'8 Shorewood- Is a pretty solid outside shooter and handles the ball fairly well.
20. Brandon Hagenow 5'10 Sussex Hamiliton- Just a solid all around player that doesn't do much wrong and is a pretty good shooters.
21. Reggie Kujak 6'6 Blair Taylor- Big body that rebounds very well and can block shots. Offensive game is lacking right now but, shows some flashes in the post.
22. Ryan Gerritson 6'3 Waupun- Very good three point shooter, rebounds well, and can do alittle bit of anything.
23. Gederrick Williams 6'5 Milwaukee Washington- Athletic big man that rebounds very well and battles on the inside.
24. Cary Thomas 6'2 Racine St Catherines- Great defender, that can do alittle bit of everything on the offensive end. Great competitor.
25. Jared Bosse 6'2 Green Bay NEW Lutheran- Banger on the inside that rebounds very well and can score in the post.
HM
Asa Odegaard 5'11 Poynette

Well one more class of rankings to do with the freshmen and then I may be making the move to softball. Not positive how much I'll keep up with it and if there is even any interest but, will see how it goes.

Final Junior Rankings

With my junior rankings I know that everyone is expecting to see the players from Milwaukee Hamilton up towards the top of the rankings but, that isn't the case for me. I only saw Hamilton play once and it was one of the games that they lost and they really weren't that impressive. So here are my final rankings for juniors.

1.Nimrod Hillard 6'0 Madison East- One of the most impressive players that I saw all year. Killer cross over that can break the best defenders ankles. Has a very nice floater shot when he gets within 10 feet of the rim. Can get to the rim at any time and can finish in a variety of ways. Has a low release on his shot but, when given room he can drop the shot and has a very nice step back shot. Also a very in your face defender.
2. Connor Miller 6'2 Eau Claire Regis- Greatly improved player that handles the ball very very well. Could easily take a game over if he wanted to but, really is a true point guard that is looking to set his teammates up. When its necessary he will take a game over. Has a very nice outside shot which he loves to shoot off the dribble.
3. Quevyn Winters 6'5 Milwaukee Washington- Just a very smooth player that does everything well. Handles the ball fairly well for a high school kid his size and can shoot the three point shot. He's a great perimeter player but, he may be at his best when he's in the post. Player that anyone would love to have.
4. Chris Hawkins 6'4 Sun Prairie- Kid that loves to bash on the inside. Just very solid player on the inside and isn't afraid to battle with anyone and has the ability to battle with them. Rebounds great and can block shots fairly well. If he can stay out of foul trouble he'll be a huge asset to Sun Prairie next year.
5.Charles Lee 5'8 Milwaukee Hamilton- Ultra quick guard that handles the ball very well. Despite his size has the ability to get his shot off at anytime. Runs an offense fairly well.
6. John Kopriva 6'6 Milwaukee Marquette- Great player in the post and can finish over much taller defenders as he showcased going against the 7'1 Ben Mills. Just has a very nice smooth game around the hoop and really battles for rebounds.
7. Jordan Noskowiak 6'3 Sun Prairie- Streaky shooter and when he's hot he's very tough to shot. Comes off a screen and gets his feet set very quick and gets his shot off fairly quick. Pretty good defender is a solid rebounder from the perimeter.
8. Trevor Jorgenson 6'7 Lacrosse Logan- Beast on the inside that really has a soft touch around the rim. Rebounds very well and really uses his wide body nicely to fight for position on the inside and grabbing rebounds.
9. Chad Mazur 6'3 Reedsburg- Moves incredibly well without the ball and uses his teammates screens very well. Shoots the three ball very very well and comes off the screen and sets his feet very quick and has a quick release. Doesn't matter if a defender is in his face or not the shot is going to fall.
10. Zach Zweifel 6'0 Monona Grove- Just a flat out scorer, that can really put the points up. Can finish at the rim very well and has a very nice midrange shot. Very athletic kid that can do lots of things on the offensive end.
11. Jared Staege 6'2 Waunakee- Great ball handler that handles the ball very well and can get to the rim. Can also knock down the three point shot.
12. Quentin Calloway 5'11 Milwaukee Marquette- Great great ballhandler that does a nice job of distributing the ball and can get to the rim and finish.
13. Elgin Cook 6'6 Milwaukee Hamilton- Honestly was alittle disappointed in Cook. He was very solid in the post but, I was expecting him to be more of a perimeter player. Was very solid on the inside showing is athleticism.
14. Darnell Harris 6'8 Milwaukee Hamilton- Big man that runs the court very well and likes to shoot the three point shot. Would of liked to of seen him play in the post though but, seems happy sitting outside.
15. Bryan Tordoff 6'0 Monroe- Another very good three point shooter that moves very well without the ball and comes off screens ready to shoot the ball. Shooter that can go off for a bunch in a hurry.
16. Hank Kujak 6'2 Blair Taylor- Streaker shooter from the outside but, can hit a shot from anywhere on the court when he gets hot. Just finds a way to finish at the rim.
17. Beau Murray 6'3 Waunakee- Does a great job of going to the rim and getting fouled where he almost always makes his free throws. When he doesn't get fouled he is able to make the layups in a variety of ways.
18. Johnny Coenen 5'8 Appleton East- Undersized player that plays much bigger. Does a great job of setting his teammates up and is a very good three point shooter.
19. Kaylor Zimmerman 6'1 Green Bay NEW Lutheran- Nice point guard that can really knock down the midrange shot. and is very quick. Defensively he has very quick hands that allows him to get numerous steals getting his hands in the passing lanes and just taking the ball from opponents.
20. Adam Ray 6'2 Poynette- Very nice three point shooter that can get hot in a hurry and can use his strength to score in the paint.
21. Mark Kowalke 6'6 Baraboo- Big man thats a great rebounder and can block some shots. Offensively can score in the post, knock down the mid range jumper, and can hit the three point shot.
22. Trent Schmidt 6'2 Appleton East- Great great defender that can shut down even the best scorers. Can penetrate and score and just as easily hit the outside shot.
23. Tre Burnette 6'4 Madison Memorial- Very good three point shooter that can go off at anytime from the outside.
24. TJ Huzienga 6'2 Randolph- Long athletic player that can get to the rim and score in a variety of ways. Length allows him to be a great defender that can get his hands on a lot of passes.
25. Charlie Fischer 6'3 Arrowhead- Great three point shooter, that gets good elevation on his shot. Also is a great leaper then can get off the ground very quick.

HM
Jaron Schaffner 5'11 Sun Prairie
Ian Joyce 6'6 Middleton
Melvin Cook 6'1 Milwaukee Washington

Final Senior Rankings

I know this has been a longtime coming as I have been lacking on my posts and I haven't done player rankings since back in early February. I've decided for my rankings to do a ranking class by class to give the underclassmen their respect and go more in depth then just the top 10 in each class. The season is over so I might as well focus on each class more since I really don't have any other topics to talk about. Again my rankings will only include players that I have actually seen play in the past year and only take into consideration the games that I saw them play. Also I don't include their potential level, so a player may look very good at the high school level and I will rank them high but, deep down I know that they will not be able to be as effected at the higher college level, while on the other side I won't favor the 7 foot players that have the high level of potential. So here are my rankings for the senior class of 2010.

1. Vander Blue 6'3 Madison Memorial- Yes I know he didn't have a very good state championship game and didn't have the greatest state as a whole but, I truly believe that he was the best player in the state this year. Has a very good team around him so his numbers aren't as great as some of the other top players. His ball handling skills really impressed me this year and I've been watching this kid 10 plus games a year the past three years and his outside shooting has progressed, yes it needs to improve to succeed at the college level but, were talking high school now. Has a very nice mid range shot, goes to the rim very hard where he can finish in a variety of ways, rebounds very well, can jump out of the gym, if you watch on rebounds his head is up by the rim, and actually plays some pretty good defense when he isn't trying to jump the passing lane.
2. Marquis Mason 6'4 Madison East- Love watching Mason play. I've probably said it a 100 times but, he's one of those rare players that can control a game and doesn't need to score double digits. He's the best shot blocker that I've seen this year even though he isn't always the tallest player and also the best rebounder. Along with that rebounding he is a fairly good outlet passer usually finding a a cheating Nimrod Hillard wide open for a 3/4 court pass and wide open layup. Yes Mason does make some ill advised passes from time to time but, what high school kid doesn't? Offensively Mason is a beast to stop and if he gets the ball deep in the block he's going to score without question. Just a final thing to throw in was also the best dunker in the state this year.
3. Kyle Kelm 6'10 Randolph- Very similar player to a Steve Novack in that he prefers playing on the perimeter as apposed to playing in the post using his size advantage. He isn't a soft player and doesn't have a problem going to the inside when needed but, most teams play a zone against Randolph and there really isn't much room for Kelm on the inside to score. Kelm is the most dangerous when he gets the ball at the free throw line. Kelm can knock down the mid range jumper, drive to the hoop, or pass to an open teammate which is probably his most valuable asset he brings to the table. Kelm passes exceptionally well for a guy that's nearly 7 foot tall and is probably in the top 10 three point shooters in the state.
4. TJ Bray 6'4 Catholic Memorial- I know I'll probably hear it from some people for this ranking because Bray won the Mr. Basketball award but, I don't think he is necessarily the best player in the state. Bray is a near triple double every time he steps on the court and nearly averaged a double double in points and rebounds. Bray doesn't blow you away with one particular skill but, he just does everything well. He runs the teams offense and does a good job of finding open teammates. He can hit the three point when its there to take, has a very quick first step that allows him to get past his defender, and he's the best rebounding guard in the state.
4. Austin Armga 6'3 Waupun- In my opinion he's the best scorer that I saw this year. He is nearly impossible to stay in front of. He has one great skill that nearly anyone that plays basketball lacks and that's the ability to knock down the mid range shot. From about 15 to 10 feet in he's going to make the shot. The only thing that he is lacking is the ability to knock down the three point shot consistently but, that doesn't stop him from averaging nearly 30 points a game. Uses his teammates exceptionally well running off of screens and finding openings in the defense.
5. Steve McWhorter 6'2 Racine St. Catherines- Best on the ball defender that I've seen this year. His defense is his biggest asset. He always guards the other teams best defender whether there a post player or perimeter player he can handle them. Does a very good job of running the teams offense and really has a knack of knowing when to push the ball and when to slow up the tempo. He never seems out of control and really lets the game come to him. He's nearly automatic from the outside shooting and can get to the rim when the opening in the defense is there.
6. Tre Edwards 6'1 Racine Park-I saw him the first game of the year so maybe I just wasn't up to date on my basketball at that time but, he was a very impressive player. Another point guard that really runs his team really well and is a leader on the court. Plays very tough in your face defense and does a nice job of jumping the passing lane. Can finish at the hoop with either hand going around or over defenders. Appears to need to work on his outside shooting though as it appears that he wants nothing to do with the three point shot.
7. Josh Gasser 6'4 Port Washington- Very similar to Bray in that he doesn't do anything exceptionally well but, just does everything pretty good. Runs the point, rebounds, and can score. Does a great job of getting to the rim and scoring and if he gets fouled goes to the line and makes the free throw shot. Is another great leader.
8. Cody Odegaard 6'2 Poynette- A sharpshooter from the perimeter. Gets great elevation on his jump shot and is money from 15 foot and out to the three point line. When he's hot he doesn't miss even if there is a player in his face or not. Comes off screens and is immediately ready to shoot and has a very quick release. He's a flat out scorer.
9. Steve Tecker 6'5 Northwestern- Just a beast on the court that can just push his defender into the post. With his strength he is able to score on his defenders on the inside. As well as playing on the post he is able handle the ball and help bring the ball up the court. Will need to improve his three point shooting at the next level.
10. Andy Fox 6'0 Arrowhead- Ultra quick point guard that is impossible to stop going to his right when he drives. Does a great job of feeding his big man Ben Mills and driving and dishing and finding open teammates. Never picks up his dribble to early and doesn't turn the ball over. He can also hit the three himself when the open shot is there.
11. Donnie Hissa 6'8 Northwestern- Really does a great job of sealing off his defender and scoring in the post. Also does a nice job of feeding the post from the high post. Can also knock down the three point shot and doesn't need to be set.
12. Ben Mills 7'1 Arrowhead- Big man with a real nice soft touch around the rim, can step out and hit the jump shot out to 10 feet. Does a nice job of following the missed shots and getting the putbacks.
13. Jordan Mach 6'3 Antigo- Very similar player to Armga in that he moves exceptionally well without the ball. Shoots alittle too much for my liking. Could tell he's a big time scorer even though he didn't have the greatest game when I saw him at state.
14. Tre Creamer 6'2 Madison Memorial- Really stepped up his game this year to be a very nice second option to Blue. When Blue was struggling Creamer was able to take over and carry the team. Really has a nice step back three point shot that he will showcase whether its necessary or not but, that's what gets him in rhythm. Does a nice job of slashing to the hoop and scoring and has a very nice little slid step move he uses to get to the rim.
15. Brett Meinecke 6'2 Sussex Hamiliton- Very heading point guard that really looks for his teammates and keeps the offense balanced. Knocks down the three and can get to the rim and score.
16. Sam Karls 6'4 Verona- Ultimate competitor on the court. Always guards the other teams best offensive player whether their a post or perimeter player. Is a great rebounder that can score in a variety of ways. Can hit the three when he's able to spot up, drive to the hoop, and score on the block. He's a glue player that I would love to have on my team.
17. Kevin Hurd 6'0 Portage- Just a heady lead guard that knows how to play the game. He runs the teams offense even if he's not the guy bringing the ball up the court. He can hit the three when he's able to spot up and has a nice little step back mid range jumper that he's able to knock down. He does a nice job of rebounding without even having to jump off the floor.
18. Matt Everson 6'2 Middleton- Another flat out scorer that handles the ball very well and makes smart decisions with the ball. Shoots the three well when its there and can penetrate but, really likes to post up smaller guards. Never misses from the free throw line which is his best offense at times.
19. Derek Schell 6'1 Catholic Memorial- Very good outside shooter that can hit the three and can also get to the hoop and score. Has adequate ball handling skills for a guard. Another guy that moves well without the ball or setting up his teammates.
20. Brad Brooks 6'5 Green Lake- Honestly didn't have a great game in the one game that I saw him but, could tell by watching him in warm ups that he's a great player. He moves extremely well for a guy his size and when he has the open shot he's not going to miss out to the three point line and he gets a nice elevation on his shot.
21. Ryan Solberg 6'6 Waukesha West- Big guy that runs the court very well and has a very nice mid range game. Seems like a soft player but, isn't afraid to go to the inside and battle.
22. Justin Ward 6'4 Wisconsin Dells- Long lanky player that is an assassin from the outside and when he gets going from three point range is tough to stop. Not a real quick player but, has the ability to drive to the hoop and score.
23. Terry Taylor 5'11 Milwaukee Washington- Ultra quick point guard that loves to push the tempo and uses his superior ball handling skills to get around defenders and can hit the open outside shot.
24. KJ Evans 6'3 Beloit- Another very competitive, tough player that is able to use his strength and drive to the lane and score or get fouled. A very good leaper that rebounds very well.
25. Adams Ganske 6'3 Eau Claire Regis- Just a very fundamentally sound player that does alittle bit of everything. Is very tough on the block with his back to the basket but, can go outside just as well and handle the ball and drive to the rim. Just an alright outside shot.
HM
Jackson Retzlaff 5'11 Monona Grove
Andrew Schwoerer 6'4 Valders
Derrick Cook 6'0 Milwaukee South
Sam Koenig 6'5 Sauk Prairie

Honestly I'm alittle too tired after all this to type much more and will do my best to keep up with my other post in the next few days or so. Softball is around the corner and not sure if I'll try to keep up with the posting or not. I know that I will try but, mid summer I will be so busy that I won't have much of a chance to post on a regular bases.

Team Rankings Round Four

I know I said that I wasn't going to do another round of team rankings but, I decided to do the rankings anyway because the best teams don't always win state and it's interesting to rate the divisions against each other. I also haven't done player rankings in a long time and I will try to get back on top of that as I've really been slacking on my posting as of late. One nice thing is since I haven't seen any players or teams in awhile I can start over fresh with my thinking. It's always said what you've seen most recent you give the most credit. Reminder I only rank the teams that I have seen play and only taking the games that I have seen into consideration.

Overall
1. Madison Memorial- Yes I know that they didn't win state but, I still believe that they were the best team in the state and played one of their worst games of the year in the championship game. They were playing some of their best basketball with about five games remaining in the regular season and continued that through the playoffs until the imploded against Arrowhead. Have the most talent, athleticism, and can actually shoot the three ball this year. I feel if they player Arrowhead 10 times they would win seven of them.
2. Arrowhead- They won state for division one and they've got everything in their arsenal. They have a lightning quick point guard in 6'0 senior Andy Fox, an outside sharp shooter in 6'3 junior Charlie Fischer, and a big man in the middle with 7'1 senior Ben Mills. Mills is a difference maker with his size and Fox can handle the pressure as good as anyone in the state.
3. Madison East- They have 6'4 senior Marquis Mason and 6'0 junior Nimrod Hillard who are both top five players in each of their classes. Memorial was just the better team at the end of the year and probably should of lost to them twice and would of had a very tough time matching up with Mills with Arrowhead. I still question the rest of their team outside of the big two.
4. Milwaukee Hamilton- Yes I know Marquette beat them at state but, in that game Hamiltion dominated throughout the first three quarters before Marquette got hot and Hamilton decided to stop scoring before the game was over. They are the most talented team in the state as the player rankings show. Next year if they play team basketball and don't settle for the outside shots state is theirs.
5. Milwaukee Marquette- 6'6 junior John Kopriva is very tough on the inside and was very impressive in both his games battling against the bigger defenders in particular Mills. They have two great athletes on the outside with 6'3 senior Marvin Paine and 5'11 junior Quentin Calloway. They are also a very disciplined team that doesn't seem to get frustrated late in games or when things aren't going their way.
6. Waukesha Catholic Memorial- 6'4 TJ Bray was Mr. Basketball and 6'1 senior Derek Schell is a very good sidekick. I'm still very surprised that they beat Arrowhead twice during the year but, I didn't see those games and they were conference games where the teams know each other very well and are usually games that are fairly intense. I just seem them struggling against teams with size and athleticism.
7. Racine St. Catherines- I truly believe that these guys could play with anyone in the state. They are just so athletic, very disciplined, rebound well, and play great defense. Their point guard 6'2 senior Steve McWhorter is a great leader and may be the best on the ball defender in the state. With McWhorter running the show I think they would be very tough to press and have the athleticism to battle bigger teams.
8. Racine Park- Really love to pressure teams and you need to have a very good point guard to beat this team. Their top five guards are very good which allows them to some constantly. Have seven players that could go for double figures on any given night.
9. Milwaukee Washington- Extremely athletic team that has the height and size to battle with anyone. 6'4 junior Quevyn Winters is usually the best player on the court. 5'11 senior Terry Taylor is a solid point guard that is very quick with the ball in his hands and also have lots and lots of depth on this team.
10.Northwestern- Have lots of size and really look to post they big man 6'8 senior Donnie Hissa and 6'5 senior Steve Tecker is a D1 recruit. Run their offense from the inside out which gives them open three point shots which they can knock down.
11. Sun Prairie- Team that really plays to their opponents level. They'll take the good teams right to the wire and will let the bad teams hang around with them. Rely heavily on the three point shot and have a lot of guys that can shoot them. Don't get flustered in big games and really come to play.
12. Milwaukee King- Another team with loads of talent that can go 12 deep and not lose a thing. Probably a year away from doing real damage.
13. Waunakee- After watching Waunakee struggle against Washington I believe they would really struggle against an athletic team that will pressure them. I still think they will beat Sun Prairie in the playoffs.
14. Randolph- Senior 6'10 Kyle Kelm is the best big man in the state in my opinion. This team doesn't wow you but, they just play very disciplined, rebound well, and play great defense. They do a great job of running their offense through Kelm, pass the ball great, and hit the open shots when their there. Just a very good team overall.
15. Appleton East- Were much improved from when I saw them earlier in the year. 6'7 sophomore Sam Mader is the biggest reason as he has really become a great all around player. They still rely on the three point shot but, when a team hits their threes they can play with anyone.
16. Oak Lawn Richards Ill- Run the court very very well and can score in a hurry. Knock down the three very well in transition.
17. Port Washington- Very disciplined team that has a star in Josh Gasser but, they don't need to rely on him every game to get the win.
18. Verona- Really seem to be peaking at the right time. Rebound very well and play great defense. Sam Karls appears to be that go to guy for them.
19. Waupun- Solid team overall that has the most impressive scorer that I've seen in Austin Armga.
20. Monroe- Just like every other Monroe team. They move extremely well without the ball, play very hard, and shoot the three very well. Unlike Monroe's of the past this team has some height.
21. Hamiliton Sussex- Another team that is extremely deep. Can go 12 deep with out losing much and every guy on the deep can hit the three point shot.
22. Antigo- 6'3 senior Jordan Mach is a big time scorer but, worry that they rely on him too much. Run a very deliberate offense and rebound very well.
23. Eau Claire Regis- 6'2 junior Connor Miller is a big time player and is very impressive. 6'7 junior Steven Hofacker is a beast on the inside and 6'3 Adam Ganske does alittle bit of everything.
24. Middleton- Rebound very well with their overall team height advantage. If Matt Everson is on they could be trouble for some teams.
25. Beloit- Very athletic team with eight very solid players. If you pack it in can probably beat them though

Division Two
1. Waukesha Catholic Memorial
2. Northwestern
3. Port Washington
4. Waupun
5. Monroe
6. Sauk Prairie- Don't hit a lot of threes but, seem to really knock them down in the clutch. Really control the tempo of the game and have some nice big guys that can hit the jumpers.
7. Valders- Great rebounding team that looks like a bunch of football players playing basketball, which is a good thing in this case. Pound the glass and run their offense very well.
8. Kiel- Very tough team that shoots the three ball very well. Rely heavily on their top two players it seemed though.
9. Prairie du Chien- Very balanced team that has a lot of scorers. Very guard oriented and like to shoot the outside shot but, have a 6'6 guy they can throw it into if they want.
10. Reedsburg- Chad Mazur is a great great player but, they lack overall team talent. Jordan Van Cleave and Jon Stolte are solid role players.

Wisconsin Dells

Division Three
1. Racine St. Catherines
2. Eau Claire Regis
3. Blair Taylor- Rebound very very well and don't really get frustrated just keep playing tough.
4. Poynette- 6'2 senior Cody Odegaard is a stud and 6'3 Adam Ray helps out too. Both kids can really shoot the ball.
5. Brillion- Shoot the three very well but, really lacks height. Basically playing with five guards at all times. Rely too much on the three.

Division Four
1. Randolph
2. Green Bay NEW Lutheran- Very good D4 team just didn't have the height to battle Randolph. 5'11 Kaylor Zimmerman is really a star.
3. Clayton- Very solid fundamentally sound team with the big man 6'4 senior Taylor Dayton in the middle.
4. Green Lake- Start three guys at 6'4 or taller and they are all very athletic.
5. Royal- They were at state so I guess there good but, didn't show much at state.
6. New Lisbon- Not a very impressive team but, only other D4 team that I saw play.

Well I will do my best to work on my player rankings tomorrow but, it will take me a while due to the fact that I really haven't updated the rankings in a while so I have a lot of games to look through and review.
