Division Two Preseason Rankings

The regular season has actually already started so, I obviously need to get my preseason rankings finished here. My rankings will not take into account any games that have been played or lost this year and hopefully my rankings will be done by the end of this weekend, so I will only be missing a week of games and a lot of teams won't have even played yet anyway. Here are my D2 rankings.

1. Seymour- Have a pair of scholarship players leading the way with 6'6 Marquette recruit, senior Sandy Cohen and 6'4 senior Dakota Oskey.

2. Rice Lake- May very well have the top player in all of D2 in the 6'9 junior Henry Ellenson.

3. West De Pere- Had a tremendous record a year ago and bring back two big time players in 6'6 senior Chandler Diekvoss and 6'8 junior Cody Schwartz.

4. Whitefish Bay- Had some very big wins a year ago including beating a very good Little Chute team, who seemed unbeatable at the time and bring back three starters including their leading scorer 6'6 senior Joe Sherburne.

5. Milwaukee Washington- Had a ton of athletes and talent on this team a year ago and have plenty coming back. Had maybe too much talent a year ago as it seemed at times guys weren't able to get in the flow of the game because their was always someone waiting in the wings if they made a mistake.

6. Wisconsin Lutheran- Similar to Washington in that they had a ton of talent. Played ten players evenly last year so those bench players saw a lot of time and experience a year ago.

7. Milwaukee Pius- Have top two scores back in 6'7 junior Levi Bradley and 6'1 senior Donovan Jackson.

8. La Crosse Central- Really challenged Onalaska and Aquinas a year ago for the conference title and both those teams were extremely good.

9. Stoughton- State team a year ago and they bring back their top player in 6'8 junior Nick McGlyn.

10. New Berlin Eisenhower- Always seem to rebuild with this team and are led by big time scorer 6'1 senior Reed Timmer.

11. Pewaukee- The last few years they always seem to have one of the best records in the state, so figured this year would be no different.

12. Mount Horeb- Really only because Mark Miller had them in his top 10.

13. Holmen- Bring back all five starters that all averaged between seven and 11 points.

14. Plymouth- Again a Mark Miller pick.

15. Madison Edgewood- Just a hunch. Coach Zwittler always gets the most out of his teams.

As you can tell by my rankings after the top nine I was a little clueless. D2 is always so tough and the ranked teams are constantly changing. So many of these teams are playing bigger schools during the year which really hurts their overall record. Doing these rankings has really gotten me excited for the year and I can't hardly wait.
