As expected the Badgers took down there second division three opponent in an exhibition game. Wisconsin was able to use their height advantage to pound the ball inside and to control the boards. This second game of preseason gave fans the chance to get alittle better idea of what Wisconsins rotation will look like. After watching the game it appears that Tim Jarmusz will be the freshmen that will be redshirted if any of the freshmen are. It appears that Keaton Nankivil and Jon Leuer will be the backups to Stiemsma and Butch on the front line. The back court will consist of a starting line up of Trevon Hughes at the point and Michael Flowers at the two guard with Jason Bohannon backing up both. Marcus Landry will probably start at the three position with Joe Krabbenhoft coming off the bench and both players will see time in the back court and the front court at times.
As far as who looked good tonight Krabbenhoft had another big game scoring most of his points inside and grabbing a bunch of rebounds as usual. Trevon Hughes continues to really impress as he shows the ability to get the hoop at will and find the wide open teammate for the easy basket. Michael Flowers did his usual great things on defense while also showing some offensive game nailing a three pointer or two. Greg Stiemsma and Brian Butch also had solid games scoring in the post and control the boards both on offense and defense. As I keep up on the progress of fellow Wisconsin Dells alum JP Gavinski it appears will be destined to another year on the bench waving his towel. Right now he's 5th on the depth chart of big man and I just don't see there being any room for him this year.
Eau Claire never could get things going as they just had so many problems with the Badgers height and had to settle for outside shots the majority of the time. The Blugolds returning leading scorer Dan Beyer spent the night in foul trouble and could never get things going against the taller Badger big man.
